Adrea Bright
Adrea Bright is an award-winning fine art, family, and portrait photographer based in Southern California. Her early area of concentration in watercolor indelibly shaped her style of photography. What began as a personal instinct to preserve memories grew into a twenty year portrait career. Over time her work has shifted to scenes and details fluid with light, color, and visual poetry. She has been recognized by the Annual Photography Awards in 2025 and the Chromatic Awards in 2026.
A modern refuge.
Reality is Here and Now but we live the majority of our lives elsewhere.
At Groundless we explore what it means to be alive, grow and learn, and remind ourselves that we belong together.
Being. Becoming. Belonging.
Humans flourish when they are in honest relationship with reality — which is only Here and Now. But, most of us, understandably, don’t live our lives that way. Reality is uncertain, constantly changing, and not fully controllable.
Modern culture trains us to resist this - to seek certainty through achievement, identity, or control. But, the harder we brace against life, the more anxious and lost we become. We think we can make everything black and white, safe and certain. But, a lot of life’s most valuable gifts come with letting that illusion go.
Pema Chodron said that existence is fundamentally groundless. Groundlessness can sound and feel terrifying, like falling off a cliff. But it is also possible to realize it experientially as floating - as a beautiful, deeply peaceful way to Be.
Many of us feel unmoored from ourselves, others, and a deeper sense of meaning. At the cultural level, this makes it difficult to find containers for reflection, creativity, belonging, and shared learning and growth. We all need a refuge.
Welcome to Groundless.
